KC Icehawks Select Teams
The Select Division of the Midwest Hockey League (MHL) gives house players the chance to compete at a higher level without committing to full-time travel hockey. Icehawks players selected for this division will join with top house players from across the region for additional games and events, building skills and experience against stronger competition while continuing to play with their KCYHL team.
The MHL Select Division is offered at the 10U (Squirt), 12U (Peewee), and 14U (Bantam) levels. The league is played over three weekends, totaling approximately 10–14 games. Hosting locations are determined once registration closes. To be eligible for the finals weekend, players must have participated in at least one of the two seeding weekends. In addition, players may only play on one team within the league.

When
The Kansas City Icehawks Select Team season begins with tryouts on October 3, 2025. Following team selections, the season runs from October through March, featuring seeding weekends, tournament play, and the MHL Select Finals.
Where
Home games for the Kansas City Icehawks MHL Select Teams are played at AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk in Overland Park, KS. Away games may take place at rinks throughout the Kansas City metro area, as well as at regional sites such as Omaha (NE), Des Moines (IA), Ames (IA), and Fremont (NE).
Practices
All Kansas City Icehawks MHL Select Teams practice at AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk in Overland Park, KS. Each Select team holds one practice per week in addition to the player’s regular KCYHL house team practices, giving athletes added opportunities to develop their skills, strengthen teamwork, and prepare for higher-level competition.

This registration is only for players who previously registered using our original application and is being used to transfer all participants into our new platform, Crossbar. There is no charge for this registration, as all fees were already paid through the old system.
