KC Hockey Club Travel

The Kansas City Hockey Club Travel Program is a new partnership focused on providing a competitive and development-driven travel hockey experience for players in the Kansas City area. This program is being introduced as an additional pathway alongside existing House and House Select team options, expanding opportunities for players and families throughout the Kansas City hockey community. Below you will find additional information regarding upcoming tryouts, including age levels, dates, registration details, and evaluation information for the 2026–27 season.

When

Tryouts for the KC Hockey Club Travel Program will take place in July. Team selections and roster announcements will follow shortly after the completion of tryouts.

Practices are expected to begin in August, with league games and tournament play starting in September. The fall/winter season will run through approximately March, depending on league schedules, tournaments, and postseason play.

AGES

For the 2026-27 USA Hockey season, each division would include players born between the following dates:

  • 10U: January 1, 2016 – December 31, 2017
  • 12U: January 1, 2014 – December 31, 2015
  • 14U: January 1, 2012 – December 31, 2013
  • 16U: January 1, 2010 – December 31, 2011
  • 18U: January 1, 2008 – December 31, 2009

Games

Teams in our travel program will participate in a competitive schedule that includes league play, declaration/evaluation games, and tournament opportunities throughout the season. The number of games may vary by age level and division placement, but teams can typically expect a combination of regular season league games along with additional local and travel tournament play.

Home games will be played at the AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk and the Independence Community Ice Center.

Our goal is to provide a competitive and development-focused environment that gives players meaningful game experience throughout the fall and winter season.

Practices

Teams in our travel program will practice 2–3 times per week throughout the fall and winter season. Practices will focus on skill development, skating, hockey IQ, systems, compete level, and overall team development in a structured and competitive environment.

Practices will primarily take place at the AdventHealth Sports Park at Bluhawk and the Independence Community Ice Center.

Our goal is to provide players with consistent, high-quality training opportunities that support both individual growth and team success throughout the season.

League

Teams in this program will compete in the Missouri Hockey League, which is made up primarily of teams from the St. Louis area. Teams will participate in Declaration Games to determine the appropriate league placement and level for the season. The Missouri Hockey League also determines the total number of league games played, with teams typically participating in approximately 4 Declaration Games and 12–18 regular season league games. Teams may also choose to participate in both local and travel tournaments to add additional games throughout the season.

Jerseys

Team jerseys and required apparel will be ordered and issued following the completion of tryouts and the distribution of player offer letters. Additional information regarding sizing, ordering timelines, and required equipment/apparel will be communicated to families after roster selections have been finalized.

2026–27 Travel Program Fees

The following program fees apply for the upcoming fall/winter season. Fees cover team participation for the 2026–27 travel hockey season.

Additional team-related expenses such as tournaments, uniforms/apparel, travel, and USA Hockey registration may be separate and communicated by each team as applicable.

Combined, the MAHA coaching staff brings more than 600 junior games, 500 collegiate games, and 1,800 professional games of playing experience, including 112 NHL games played by Alfie Turcotte. This experience provides players with instruction rooted in high-level competition, development, and a passion for growing the game.

2026-27 Fall/Winter Season
