Icehawks Continue Program Growth at Raider Showdown in Minnesota
This past weekend, the 10U Icehawks Select Black team traveled to Northfield to compete in the Raider Showdown, marking another important step in the continued growth of the Icehawks program.
Facing older, highly talented Minnesota teams, the Icehawks were challenged by pace, structure, and physical play throughout the weekend. The group finished 1–2–1, earning a fifth-place finish, but more importantly gained meaningful experience competing in a strong hockey environment that reflects where the program is headed.
Weekends like this are a key part of building the Icehawks standard—testing our players against top competition, learning how to compete in difficult situations, and continuing the journey of raising the level of youth hockey in Kansas City. Each opportunity to step outside our comfort zone helps strengthen the foundation of the program and reinforces the team-first identity we are establishing across all age levels.
